Dear Fellow Runners,
Back at it now, and gearing up for Scotia Vancouver Half
& 5K this weekend. I travel out there on Friday, and always look forward
to visiting with the CRS team in BC, and riding in the lead car down one
of the most beautiful courses anywhere on the planet. The stretches along
Spanish Banks and thru Point Grey, down to Stanley Park really showcase
the majesty of the Pacific NorthWest, along the ocean, with the North
Shore Mountains as a backdrop. AND there’s a lot of downhill too! I’ll
look forward to seeing some of our regular CRS participants out there.
It’s going to be a terrific weekend, and one that traditionally signals
the end of the Spring season in BC.
In the East, we’re really cranking up for the Fall already.
I see lots of blogs and Twitters showing up, announcing that many of you
have started training in earnest for Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon
or Half, with ACURA Toronto Ten Miler or 5K as a vital tune-up along the
way, and the Running Room Tune Up Training Runs as key components to provide
both information and inspiration. (note the next one at RR Yonge St.,
North Toronto on Sunday, July 4th)
But the mot-du-jour is REGISTRATION! Next Wednesday sees the next, final,
and significant price break on entries – as one example, it’s a $15 buck
increase on the Scotia Waterfront HALF; more than $11 bucks for ZooRun
10K and Waterfront Marathon -- so get your entries in now and save!!
There’s lots more news to share on STWM, but I’ll hold off
until after the 30th. We’ll stay focused for now, and the message is enter,
enter, enter TODAY!
Gotta run!
