Dear Fellow Runners,
Wow, the days are really zipping by now –- just 3+ weeks
to go to “STWM Day”. We’ve now [just] announced our Elite Start Lists
for Men and for Women and they truly are the best we’ve ever had. Corkers!!
The women’s race promises to be by far the deepest, best-quality to toe
a marathon Start line in T.O. And can Kenneth Mungara 3-peat? Can he take
the All-comers record down another minute? Can Daniel Rono come back to
banish his demons from 2007?
Next week, we’re going to launch our “Pick the Champions”
contest, so get ready to study the form sheet and vote [for free] and
you could win a trip to your favourite CRS event anywhere in Canada next
year!
Watch out too, for our BIG announcement on the website later
this week for the “2,500th Anniversary Celebrations of the Marathon” over
STWM Weekend – complete with Torch Relay! We’ll also have a cracking list
of EXPO speakers posted very soon too. Read about them first in my tweets…
Thank you all for your notes and your tweets! I’m hearing
from charity runners from Colorado, elites in the mountains near Nagano
Japan, and lots of you pounding out the last kilometers of training across
Canada. Hang in! The taper is nigh!
Maybe I’ll see some of you at our booth at the OASIS Montreal
Marathon this weekend at Place Bonaventure, then back for a final tune
up at the OAKVILLE Half Marathon on Monday. Good luck to us all!
