ChampionChip© Timing & Results by SportStats.ca

New Recyclable Single Use Chips From ChampionChip for the Sporting Life 10k!

You must have a chip in order to have a recorded time.
NO CHIP = NO TIME, No exceptions!

Important: You must wear the white ChampionChip provided in your package envelope on your shoelaces as indicated or you will not be timed. Timing and scoring is determined using the chip; therefore you must cross the mats at all points in order to be eligible for a finishing time. AWARDS ARE DETERMINED BY GUN TIME (official time).

How to attach the chip to your shoe laces

one-time use chip
  1. This is a new single souvenir ChampionChip. You can only use the chip for this event. After the event you can keep it as a souvenir.
  2. Simply slide the chip on your shoe laces like a paper clip. You can also tie it to your shoe laces as it does not have to be returned at the finish line. If you have elastic laces we recommend you secure the chip with a zip tie.
  3. The chip must lay FLAT on your foot to register properly; you cannot put the chip on an ankle strap. It MUST be flat on the laces as indicated in the picture.

Finish line option:

  1. At the finish line you will have the option to walk away with your souvenir chip.
  2. Throw the chip in our recycle bins. These will be verified and sent back to ChampionChip.
  3. Important: This chip will only work for this event; do not use it for any other events as it could interfere with the results.

Corrals and Waves at the Sporting Life 10k this year!

If you registered before April 17th you will be placed in the corresponding corral at the start line. Please make sure to arrive early on race morning to get yourselves organized. There will be coloured flags and balloons at the start line that will correspond to the colour stripe on your bib. You will only be allowed to enter the corral that corresponds to the stripe on your bib. However, anyone can enter the 1hr+ open-purple corral.

We will not be changing corrals during packet pickup or on Race Morning!

We will have 3 waves this year:

The 2nd wave will start approximately 5 minutes after the 1st wave. We will release the rope as soon as the 1st wave has cleared the start. Then everyone in the second wave will be allowed to start running. The walkers start will be at approximately 8:10am and we will walk everyone up to the start line, restart the mats so you will have separate walkers’ results and then off you go.
