The stars from the New Balance Speed River Track and Field Club turned out to lead the first-ever Sporting Life 10k tune-up run.

Chris Winter (centre) flanked by Amber McGown (L) and Dana Buchanan (R) and Canadian Olympians Taylor Milne (L) and Eric Gillis (R).

Eric Gillis and his teammates had words of inspiration as well as information before and after the easy 5k jog.

Michelle Afinec of Camp Oochigeas encourages everyone to make their day extra special on May 2nd, by signing up to run for Camp Ooch this year. Raise $250 and Ooch will even give you a free entry.

Eric sets an easy pace to lead almost 100 runners on their 5k jog to launch the formal 10-week online training program that that begins February 22nd.

New Balance helped support the tune-up run by providing "test drive" shoes and some expert advice on the right footwear.

The day also provided a good opportunity to mix and mingle, to swap stories and goals as we begin the 10-week journey to the Finish Line of Sporting Life 10k on May 2nd.
