CNIB, BC-Yukon Division (Canadian National Institute for the Blind)
Walk, run or roll, and help us reach our goal to raise $25,000 or more!
Every dollar you and your team raises will go towards important CNIB services across BC, including our white cane program, talking book machines and functional vision assessments.
Your support enables CNIB to provide programs which enable blind and partially sighted people of all ages to lead active, independent lives. A donation of any amount is greatly appreciated! For your interest, costs associated with these areas are:
White canes cost $25 to $70 each, and an orientation and mobility training session is $100 per hour of instruction.
A talking book machine costs $553 each, and includes a training session to show clients how to use this assistive reading device.
CNIB's Low Vision Specialists provide functional vision assessments to help people make effective use of their remaining sight. A one-hour session costs approximately $100.
CNIB is able to provide services to its clients thanks to the generosity of its supporters, and endeavours to provide a white cane and a talking book machine to clients who cannot afford to purchase them.
Your support can truly make a difference in peoples' lives!
CNIB passionately provides community-based support, knowledge and a national voice to ensure that Canadians who are blind or partially sighted have the confidence, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life.
Established in 1918, CNIB offers access to rehabilitation training, innovative consumer products and peer support programs, as well as alternative format newspapers, books and magazines through its extensive national library.
