Canadian Red Cross Society
The Canadian Red Cross Society offers a variety of wonderful programs and services throughout British Columbia. Some of these include: Disaster Management: Helps people prepare for disasters and allows us to respond to disasters by reuniting families, providing them with relief items, and shelter should there be any local floods or forest fires. Health Equipment Loan Program: Lends equipment to those recovering from injury, surgery, or illness free of charge and by donation. There are dozens of Health Equipment Loan Depots situated throughout British Columbia. RespectED: Provides violence and abuse prevention education throughout British Columbia Elementary and High Schools. Humanitarian Issues Program: Offers various programs to immigrants and newcomers in 18 different languages, provides psychosocial support to families who have children staying at BC Children's hospital, and empowers youth to become global leaders and take part in the humanitarian movement.
