BC SPCA (British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals)
The BC SPCA believes in protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Last year alone the BC SPCA took in 33,762 injured, abused or abandoned animals and gave them something invaluable — a second chance. The BC SPCA offers a range of services including adoption, education and ethical farming certification. In addition, the BC SPCA is the only animal welfare society in BC that is authorized to prepare case for Crown Counsel for the prosecution of those who inflict suffering on animals.
With less than 2% of our funding coming from the government, we rely heavily on the generosity of public donations. When you run the 5k or half-marathon on behalf of the BC SPCA you are providing a hopeful future for all the animals in our care. This summer run for animals!
