We’ve got some exciting things on course for you… 4 to be specific! 📣

The 10K passes by some colourful inflatables, and 10K and 5K participants should be on lookout during the race for @sparq.run, @chixrunthe6ix, @eastbound_runs, and @werunnorthyork 👀

We’ll all see you on Saturday! 🏁

Here’s what you need to know:

🎒Bag Check is available for 10K participants between 6:45am-7:40am. The last Bag Check bus needs to leave at 7:40am to head to (and wait for you) in the post-race area, so don’t be late!
5K bag check opens at 9:30am.

🚗 We suggest all CubRunners arrive by 7:15am to avoid the road closures.
10K participants must arrive before 7:00am.

🏁10K starts at 8:00am, CubRun starts at 9:15am-10:30am, 5K starts at 10:45am

🐅 Don’t forget your costumes! Awards will be held at 11:30am on the stage in the African Savanna

When we say that this isn’t Sue’s first rodeo, we mean it! She participated in her first Oasis ZooRun in 2013, and has only missed 2015 and 2023! So, don’t be a stranger - and be sure to say hi if you see her next week ☺️! We also got to chat with her about why she comes back every year ❣️...⁠

I love @TheTorontoZoo and I love running so when you put the 2 together it’s a perfect match for me! I love the fact that both the 5km and the 10km races are challenging with all the hills and the chance of seeing animals while running is always exciting.⁠

My favorite part of the course is running past the camels, since you can smell them before you see them (and it’s not the most pleasant smell) it gives you great incentive to run faster 🐪. The arctic wolves always seem very active while the race is on as well, so it’s always fun to run by that area too 🐺.⁠

2013 was when I started running more races and the Oasis ZooRun instantly stood out as a must do - it was close to home and one of my favourite places to visit so it seemed like one that I had to sign up for. I ran the 5km in 2013 and 2014 and then missed 2015 as I had my son that summer but I was back in the 5km in 2016. I don’t remember which year I switched to the 10km but I remember one year picking up my bib and making a last minute switch to the 10km and I’ve stuck with the 10km ever since. I sadly missed 2023 due to injury but I was back in 2024 and even snagged an age group award! Can’t wait to run this one again in a few weeks! 🥇

Don’t forget:
- Your bib after picking it up @blacktoerunning (Midtown) on September 11 or 12 👟
- Watch because you need a @thetorontozoo run on your Strava⌚️
- Phone to catch all the animal content!! 🦦
- Sunnies and sun protection☀️(we’re manifesting)
- Layers in case it’s a chilly morning 🧥
- Reusable water bottle ♻️
- And most importantly, any and all of the animal gear you own!! 🐅
